ACCOMMODATION
The camp is situated on the waters edge in a sheltered bay near Halsa, in the Nordland region of Norway.
The accommodation consists of; two, two bedroom apartments, one three bedroom apartment, and four three bedroom houses, sleeping a total of 38 persons.
BOATS
The boats are; 3 x 21’/60hp Alu jeep, 2 x 18’/40hp Alu jeep, 2 x 19’/40hp Kvaerno, 1 x 20’/70hp Rana, 1 x 20’/70hp Dolmoy with cabin, 1 x 17’/25hp Rana
FISHING
Top Class Fishing Location
Cod, Coalfish and Halibut fishing, in the sheltered fjords, is fantastic here. This is one of the best-sheltered fishing areas in Norway. Sea trout fishing is really good here from the boat and from the shore. There is a different fjord in each direction from the Polarsirkelen camp, there is, Bjaerangfjord, Skarsfjord, Holandsfjord, and Tjonsfjord, all within a few minutes of the apartments. The grounds outside of Skarsfjord are full of fish, with cod, coalies and halibut, on the plateaus and drop offs, around the small groups of rocky islands, that are spread out over this area .Directly opposite the apartments, is a small bay, which can be full of Cod and Coalfish over high tide. There are a lot of good sandy areas, littered with dabs, and the Halibut come in to feed on them making those areas the perfect place to target the Halibut !!!!
The fishing techniques that work well here are, pirking, shad fishing, bait fishing, and one style in particular that works really well for the big Coalies is, trolling, with Rapala xrap lures on spinning rods & light reels, "great fun" Sea Trout are also caught with the trolling method or by spinning for them. More and more big fish are being caught on light tackle, with light lines/braids. Polarsirkelen is the ideal place for fishing light, because of the sandy areas and the deep channels and fjords in sheltered places.
TRAVEL
To reach Polarsirkelen Fiskecamp, you fly to Bodo airport, where you will be collected for the, two and a half hour road transfer, or alternatively, you can go by ferry fron Bodo.
